The da Vinci 2.0 Duo Review Basics
2.0 Duo Dimensions
Before we move on to the good and the bad, let’s take a look at the basics. The printer has external dimension of 18.4 x 20 x 22 inches (W x H x D). The printing capacity for the da Vinci 2.0 Duo is a volume of 359 cubic inches dispersed as dimensions of 5.9 x 7.8 x 7.8 (W x H x D).
2.0 Duo Printing
How fast can you expect to print on this maker? Printing in Ultra Fast (400 micron) mode, you can expect to see your design materializing at about 150 millimeters-per-second. Although, you also have the option of printing at Fine (100 micron), Standard (200 micron), and Speed (3OO micron) layer resolutions, which will require more printing time respectively. You’ll also want to consider this model’s printing precision, which is approximately 12.5 microns.
The da Vinci 2.0 Duo Pros
Dual Extruder Printing
The da Vinci 2.0 Duo is a dual extrusion printer, which means you’ll be able to add more color to your prints. Plus, both cartridges fit comfortably inside the printer’s external shell.
Cloud Library & Members’ Gallery
Cloud storage is another great perk of this printer. With your design files stored virtually, you won’t have to worry about misplacing your computer files or USB storage device. The Members’ Gallery is also a great place to share, discover, rate, and collect designs that spark your interest.
Automatic Maintenance Features
The da Vinci 2.0 Duo comes with several automatic maintenance features such as print bed detection, which sets the ideal distance between the printing platform and extrusion nozzle, and automatic nozzle cleaning to prevent clogging. Software upgrades are also automatically updated.
Language & Compatibility
With the da Vinci 2.0 Duo you can choose to view menus and prompts, which will display on the 2.6,” 4×16 FSTN LCM display, in either English or Japanese.
The da Vinci 2.0 Duo Cons
There are plenty of great features on XYZprinting’s da Vinci 2.0 Duo, but there’s always room for improvement.
Weight and Filament Compatibility
This desktop printer is brimming with technology, but everything adds up and, for this printer, that means that you’re looking at a total weight of about 60 pounds, which may be a challenge if the printer must be frequently relocated.
And while XYZPrinting does offer a wide range of filament color options, I’d like to see material options extended past ABS in the future.
The da Vinci 2.0 Duo 3D Printer Review Verdict
The da Vinci 2.0 is a great option for first time users that plan on implementing 3D printing in a home, work, on educational environment, and with an MSRP of $649, it’s a great buy.
