MYNT3D Professional 3D Printing Pen Review Basics
The first thing you’ll notice about this pen is its incredible light weight. It weighs just 1.4oz, making it one of the lightest 3D pens around. Measurements are equally impressive at 7”x0.75”x0.62”, meaning it’s also one of the slimmest.
Unlike other 3D pens that feel like drawing with a highlighter, the MYNT3D Professional 3D Printing Pen feels more like a thick crayon.
The pen comes with a .6mm nozzle that’s easily removable and replaceable. MYNT3D sells extra nozzles as well as their own PLA and ABS filament. Setting your pen for either filament is made easy with the help of a high resolution OLED screen and intuitive control interface.
Temperature is adjustable by degree between 130-240C. Speed is also adjustable “infinitely” by sliding the speed control up and down, giving you more freedom than 3D pens with simple Fast and Slow options.

Great Features
For its price, you’d expect the MYNT3D Professional 3D Printing Pen to have a stripped down features list, but nothing could be further from the truth. First, this pen features a bright OLED display with exceptional readability. Monitor your temperature settings here, and even watch the pen heat up in real time.
Next, users appreciate the fully adjustable speed, especially when it comes to switching between ABS and PLA filaments. Control speed with the textured slide button, and control extrusion by either holding the Forward button or double clicking to auto-feed.
Another great feature we can’t ignore is this 3D pen’s portability. It’s compatible with battery power banks with at least 2A output, meaning you can use this pen anywhere without an outlet.

We mentioned fly-by-night manufacturers earlier, and it’s a real problem in the 3D printing industry. That’s why we’re happy to see the folks at MYNT3D take customer service so seriously.

Slow and Finicky Heating Element
All 3D printing pens seem to suffer from one unreliable component or another, and with the MYNT3D Professional 3D Printing Pen, that component is the heating element. On most units, the heating element is reliable, if not a little slow to reach temp.
Unfortunately, some malfunctioning units have given this pen a reputation for unsteady temperatures and even for the heating element failing altogether. Thankfully, this problem is usually immediately apparent, and MYNT3D seems happy to replace faulty units.

We started this review with a healthy skepticism toward budget electronics, but in the end we were pleasantly surprised. The MYNT3D Professional 3D Printing Pen is slim, light, quiet, and has plenty of features that even more expensive 3D pens lack.
You get the freedom to use either ABS or PLA, and we really appreciate that you can control temperature by the degree to get the perfect setting for any brand or color filament. What really makes this 3D pen a top value is the excellent customer service, though.
This ensures that if something goes wrong with your pen, there are people dedicated to helping you fix the problem. We recommend the MYNT3D Professional 3D Printing Pen to all but the most exacting of makers, who may prefer a pen with a more robust exterior or reliable heating element.
