Printrbot Play 1505 Assembled 3D Printer Pros
Well-Constructed
The Printrbot Play 1505 3D Printer’s frame is made of cut, folded powder coated steel. All the moving parts have been made of aluminum sheet metal. The hot end is an all metal Ubis hot end. The print bed is leveled automatically using software and an Auto-leveling probe. The overall build quality is excellent and sturdy compared to other models.
Good Print Quality
Printrbot Play has a print resolution of 50 microns. It’s able to print details that some other printer may not. With the aid of automatic leveling and a high resolution, Printrbot Play‘s print quality rivals the quality of some high end, costlier models.
Printrbot Play 1505 Assembled 3D Printer Cons
Lower Build volume
Printrbot Play has a build volume of little over a liter. A liter is just about sufficient but some users may require a larger build volume. Given the overall external foot print of the printer of 30 L, the print area does appear to be on the low.
Absence of Heated Bed
Objects printed using ABS filament have a tendency to warp due to rapid cooling and hence a heated bed is a highly sought after feature when printing with ABS filament. The Print Bed can be converted to a heated bed. The Printer already caters for a heated bed installation in terms of electronics and pins. However a higher power supply is required to adjust for the additional energy required to heat the build platform.
