MakerBot Replicator Mini Compact 3D Printer Pros

Compact Design

The MaketBot Replicator Mini is impressive in terms of its construction. It is a fully enclosed 3D Printer. The print is visible from four sides. The design of the printer is aesthetic and appears futuristic. It is made up of PC ABS with powder coated steel reinforcements. The body is strong and sturdy. The printer is compact enough to fit easily on your desk.

Remote Monitoring Capability

The MakerBot Replicator Mini has a built-in onboard camera with 320 x 240 resolution. This camera is accessible through your desktop PC as well as mobile apps. The Wi-Fi connectivity allows seamless connection with the printer. It also has a smart extruder which pauses if it runs out of filament and sends an alert to your desktop PC and mobile applications.

MakerBot Replicator Mini Compact 3D Printer Cons

Single Filament Type Compatibility

The MakerBot Replicator Mini is compatible with PLA only. PLA is an environmentally friendly, bio-degradable plastic. But PLA alone cannot fulfill many of the requirements of designs such as flexibility. In addition to PLA, support for one more filament type such as ABS would be preferable.

Low Build Volume

The MakerBot Replicator Mini’s build volume of 1.25L is low. Lower than most of the available printers. Though parts can be put together after individually printing them, too many parts would bring down the strength of the larger object as a whole once constructed. A larger build volume would make this 3D printer more appealing.

MakerBot Replicator Mini Compact 3D Printer Review Verdict
